what can cause a car to pull to one side?
Discussion
Well my X5 is pulling to the left
i was surprised to see that it was in tolerance when hooked up to a wheel alignment machine
they tried to make adjustments to the front toe as the rear were fine, but it was seized, so gettin getting the tie rod assembly changed to fix this.
just in case it doesn't fix it, what else could cause this?
i know someone with a lotus having a similar issue, theyve had the wheel alignment done and sorted but apparently it still pulls. i think the other option is to check the steering column, which is engine out job for him.
but what about on a 2008 bmw x5?

easy ones...swap tyres from left to right...the conicity of the tyres may be causing the issue.
your alignment...vehicles tend to pull towards the wheel with the least castor...so your car should be pulling to the left a little. Aim for more negative caster in your front left. Cars are sometimes set up for LHD or RHD markets by specifying caster split across the front axle. Tyres are also set up for LHD or RHD markets.

they are directional so would need to be swapped not just the wheel simple on and off
