Other half come beck from the dog walk hoping mad.....

Some clown has vandalized her car (Full Fat RR), smearing mud on all door handles (fortunately just mud).

She suspects husband of someone who she made redundant a few years ago when chair of the local pre-school. He's a mature retired bloke and old enough to know better....

No real harm, but off putting having had a car keyed a few weeks ago in the supermarket.

On the edge of a nice rural Yorkshire village.

All very disappointing.

Time to set-up a covert camera system inside the vehicle maybe? Easier if you have rear privacy glass.

Pretty sure. She'd have complained more if so.

Someone has waited a matter of years just to apply some mud to a car?

Don't discount, it being someone else, other than the obvious suspect with a grudge.

Its still worth taking a step back and considering if any other event near the house or on the local roads, car parks has occured.

Some people just have a screw loose, however, and you'd have to be equally mental to comprehend their actions.

I wouldn't discount it just being jealousy from someone totally random.

It's my duty to inform the OP that by any definition of the word, he has not been the victim of vandalism, although anyone who uses the phrase 'Full Fat' in conjunction with a vehicle is bound to get on most peoples nerves.

I agree it's not vandalism however Full Fat is a well established term to describe that model of Range Rover.

'Vandalised' does not cover things that can be repaired with a limp hose pipe.

You wanna try living round here, I've just had to pay £1200 to get an £8000 car looking ok enough to sell thanks to the local tag wearing inbreds.

Can I be the first to use the annoying phrase...

First world problems.

Just wash it off, or if you can't be bothered, pay a fiver for someone else to wash it off.

The problem is that next time it might be paint stripper. I had my old car vandalised (necessitating a full respray, new tyres and a new bootlid) when I visited a friend that had the misfortune of living in a rough area. Fortunately I didn't lose my NCB but it's enraging all the same!

Agreed. Although chief suspect was seen walking in that direction. It's not impossible to be someone else, but it's a quiet road with even fewer walkers and you'd really want to get even to stop a car to smear mud around.

Agreed it's easily resolved, but also easily upped to a key etc.... Said other-other half was being sent to get it washed today in any case as I have an important client to chauffeur around tomorrow.

So really it's just my feelings.

Thinking about it when we lived in the village it was a bit of a nightmare. Kids walking on top of cars, badges being nicked, mirror glass being nicked.... Perhaps it's really a hotbed of crime.

If there is a next time and it is paint stripper then its far more serious, a bit of mud on a car is not really serious is it.

Someone threw a big mac on my Cayman windscreen once, oh the horror.

Really? I'd have left it as it was for that price.

Indeed. I had my windscreen and rear passenger window smashed once (and scratches from an attempt on the drivers window) when I foolishly left it outside the local'ish train station for a few days. Nothing taken, not even a rummage round, just the windows smashed. I'd have preferred it to have been keyed...
