Hi, looking for advice on all season tyres.

Due to my last company going under I'm forced to work away from home Monday to Friday, leaving me with a 350 mile weekly commute. I need to replace the tires on my Saab 9-3 ttid (235/45/17)and am looking for something that will give good grip especially in the wet, with long life and good fuel consumption. Most of this will be motorway miles but it's in Ireland so it rains a lot, also the motorways here aren't well drained so good resistance to aquaplaning is a must. I can't justify specific winter tyres as it rarely snows here but on Monday mornings I'm usually on the road by 4.30am so will frequently have to deal with frost in the winter months. Suggestions greatly accepted.

Vredestain Quatrac is what you need, tend to wear a bit quicker than you might like though.

Having said that, given the conditions you describe and the car you are driving I'd probably just stick to summers and drive carefully when the weather is particularly bad. Maybe buy some snow socks just in case you get stuck.

Cheers, clearing standing water is my biggest worry. It nearly caught me out recently which scared the crap out of me, and I'm an ex national level motorcycle racer so don't scare easily and generally have good reactions.

Uniroyal Rainsports are well regarded on here, worth a look if standing water is your primary concern.

Uniroyal Rain Sport 3

The Uniroyal 'summer' tyres on our cars have been superb in the wet, in the dry and good in snow too.

Ireland is generally milder than most of England in my experience.

Agree with the above 2 posters, I've used the Uniroyals myself and they are brilliant in the rain and especially the standing water. I had a patch around a corner where water ran through a field onto the road every time it rained, I always had to slow right down for it because it would aquaplane every time. Once I put on the Uniroyals, no more aquaplane issues with that corner. Not bad value either.
