Lord Ganesh as a gift?

Are there any Hindu members on here that can give me some advice please?
A good friend of my parents has helped us greatly in being able to afford to buy his house by reducing the price to a level that works for us. I do not know him and his family very well, but they are lovely kind people and this gesture is heart warming.
They are Indian Hindu and so with a bit of research I thought perhaps something like a Ganesh silver coin or artwork would be a good thoughtful gift to say thank you.
