I've just sold my Bike engined Toniq R kitcar.

I now have 10K burning a whole in my pocket and I fancy something else.

Current thoughts are

Elise
VX220
Westfield
Possibly another kit car

Don't fancy evo's or Imprezas.

I'm looking for ideas as I've ran out hence why I'm asking here.

Must be rear wheel drive and at least 200 bhp per tonne.

There's probably various TVRs that would fit the bill.

If its only a temporary place to put your money Westfields and Caterhams seem to be an excellent option.

Also - Very cheap to run and insure + easy mechanicals and don't fill up the whole garage.

Ask yourself why you sold it... buy something that avoids those reasons.

When I look back at the toys I have had, I sold them for different reasons...

Westfied - sold as I always really wanted a Caterham...

Caterham, sold as it was always sitting in the garage and I never used it due to its impracticality and the fact it was always persisting down at weekends when we wanted to go out in it!

Elise 111R - sold as I hated the fact the paintwork on these always seemed to give problems... and I noticed marks starting to appear under the paint

Clio Trophy - sold as we never went out in it as a couple... it made my wife very car sick. I loved that car!

We have two toys at the moment... and SLK55 AMG and a MK1 MX5 Both fun in different ways. I love the SLK for its power, its usability top down even on cold days (air scarf and heated seats, put the blower on hot)

I love the MX5 for its shear fun factor, the way it drives, the fact it costs pennies to run...

To answer your question... how about a 3.0 Z4?

10k Elise/VX won't fulfill the power/weight criteria?

Your list is more towards lightweight cars but E46 M3?
