I took delivery of my used Aston Martin V8 2 weeks ago and I'm loving it!

However a few days ago the tire warning light came on. I pulled into the garage to check the tires. The wheels had all just been refurbished before I collected the car. Anyway the pressures were all over the place. One tire was 40psi and another 24psi. I put them all to 32psi and drove home. A few days later the light came on again. All were fine apart from one which had dropped to 24psi again. Today the same tire has dropped pressure again and the light is back on.

I can't see anything in the tire and surely a puncture would lose pressure a bit quicker? What else could it be? Is this a warranty issue?

Could be all sorts of things but most likely either you've got a screw in the tyre (although that's usually fairly obvious) or the valve is knackered and/or poorly fitted. I'd be surprised if four year old OEM wheels were porous.

Take to nearest tyre place for them to check where the leak is - hardly rocket science.

i'd give it a couple more weeks
i've had new tyres fitted and 1 or 2 lose a bit of pressure the first couple of times i checked them, after a couple of weeks they are settled

Eh?! If it's losing half a bar, it's leaking. There really isn't much more to it.

OP It's likely to be a valve or the bead not sealing. See your local friendly tyre fitting place.

Tyre

Go to a tyre place.

If you took delivery of a car without checking tyre pressures have you bothered to check the oil, water, brake fluid etc? Just because it's an AM don't assume that the dealer is any good at these things. I've only ever met 2 mechanics in my life whose work I would take on blind faith and just get in and drive flat out.

So check it all and then thrash the fk out of it and enjoy.

A standard brass/rubber valve and not one of those poncey all metal stainless valves which seem to cause more hassle than they are worth.

Bring it round to me. Leave it with me for a week or two and I will solve your leaky valve issue gratis, free of any charge, on the house if you like. All part of the friendly mini me service.

You will need to bring the v5 with it though. That's very important.

There's a rubber seal on the valve stem on the inside of the wheel that'll be causing your problem. Take it back to AM & get them to replace the seal.
