I was reading this thread earlier:
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=...

It got me thinking. I'm a serial car buyer and owned more than 25 cars. To this day not one of them has been diesel.

So who's with me? I can't be the only one not to have opted for diesel. This is PH after all.

About 20% of my cars have been diesel. Can see the appeal but I doubt I'll have another.

20 or so cars in 31 years of car ownership, not one has been a diesel. Came close once.

I've never owned a turbo diesel, but I had a series two Land Rover, with a Perkins 4-203 in it.

None, even if a fair few of my cars would have made more sense in diesel form.

I've had around 25 cars in 15 years, sadly 6 or 7 of those have been diesels. No intention of getting another though.

I've tended to have long commutes, so the bulk of my own cars have been diesel.

With all the trouble they give, i dont think i'd have one about me these days, only for the miles i do.

I've never owned a diesel and have no intention of buying one. Fortunately I have a short commute so there's no reason to even consider one.

I'd rather go electric than diesel!
I've always thought it the devil's fuel, all that black st they often spew out.

I also think the higher mpg economic advantage was always a red herring when all things were considered.

you don't own cars - they own you!

had two diesels:
RR P38a (mistake - underpowered)
Current lease Kuga (mistake - no better MPG than the petrol, but very nippy smile)
Would consider others if right, but less incentive after those two

Me. Only had three cars though. No plans to get a diesel any time soon, would rather have a hybrid.
