Jesus Christ, what is it with people. 3 separate incidents between J7 and J10.
All the cars facing the wrong way. FFS learn to drive to the conditions, it's raining heavy so slow down and don't drive like a .

I've just had a prick in a micra try to undertake me and squeeze into a gap, I've left the hap for my safety (about 8 car lengths.

If driving properly on the motorway you shouldn't need to use your brakes every 50 yards.

Know what you mean - they seem to think travelling 5-10mph/20mph will be a dosastour to the commute when in fact for most people it would add on minutes to the total time ---- on many roads congestion is simply created with the floor it hard brake repeat over and over instead of backing off and everyone going slower

Good old Monday morning brain dead driving. It's like people forget how to do it over the weekend. Always makes for entertaining listening on the radio 2 traffic report.

Im sat in toddington services watching traffic at a standstill. Next stage was m25 but might plot a cross country route for the rest of the journey. It has been hard work on the m1 this morning.

I know what you're saying...but can you really imagine the M25 with everyone leaving an 8 car length gap? If you aren't confident...stay on the inside lanes.

A14 was slow this morning at 6:45. All because some people are going too fast, and some are a bit nervous of the conditions. Mix that together and you get queues and incidents.

Dr D. Another driver with mad skillz that defy the laws of physics. Forget the prevailing conditions just CLOSE THAT GAP!!!

But seriously, in conditions like this morning do you really think a 0.5 or 1 sec gap is enough?

Ah, that takes me back to my days in Saudi and adjacent countries, every year when the rains came the highways were littered with local driver cars, after splashing through the standing water and spinning out, all of them showing a bemused aura of what the fk happened there.wobble

Common sense is thrown out of the window on a Monday morning during rush hour.
If you leave a gap - someone WILL fill it.

It's just mad - all you can do is stay alert.

No doubt whoever it was will be on here this evening complaining about all the lane hoggers on the M25 this morning and he just had to pass them on the inside to make use of the road space and it's not illegal really and we should be allowed to do it like they are in the USA.

Whilst some people do occasionally lane hog a lot of people get up themselves and try to "make a point" about it when people are just making space around their cars for the sake of safety.

I'm starting to build a picture of this mornings events and your style of driving...!

I would do anything to get past and well away from you too, just FYI.

Say no more. The laws of road sense, traffic flow and physics collapse within a few miles radius of J10. It is the bermuda triangle of the M25.

The section of the M25 from the M3 to the M4 is one of the
most congested roads in Europe, with the possible exception
of the Amsterdam ring road and the Berlin ring road.

It's a dog's breakfast. Avoid.

At one level, build more roads in the area, even though
local NIMBYs will complain, at a more subtle
level, move air traffic elsewhere, to balance the load.

Odds are the problem will be same or worse in ten years time.

The authorities either don't like more roads or find them
beyond their capability to implement.
