06 area - A8, 7, S-Class

I'm wanting another luxo barge budgeting around £10k.

Ideally would like a miss on another BMW so really it's an S-Class vs A8.

Anyone ever owned both and which one did they prefer?

At the moment I am leaning towards an S-Class but the A8 4.2TDI looks kinda tempting.
