A speed camera.....

A speed camera, which has sat, guarding motorists from themselves, on the Cockfosters to Potters Bar road for years, has been removed. Its location was always a strange one, as it was situated between two mini roundabouts, close to the natural braking point for the second.

It seemed a bit pointless to me.

Anyway, it has gone and I'm struggling to think of any others that once set up have subsequently been removed. Is this just one off, local event? Or, is the tide turning on these things?

(I'm mindful of the fact that I may be greeted by a super-dooper new speed camera in that location next time I leave the M25)

There used to be two cameras on the A1, near Newark, one has been removed and the other has a Gatso cover on it... there are a few more across the Lincolnshire wolds that have been removed too... they are the only ones I can think of...
