Assigning Retained private plate question

So I sent off the retained plate and the current v5c and mot document to assign retained plate

Question is what should I receive first?

I've received the mot certificate with the new assigned retained plate details

But what about v5c etc

As it is a plate I've not used I need to get new plates made too

So assume will have to wait for v5c to come through before being able to use it?

My MOT arrived a day or two before the V5 when we changed a plate & car last week.
Different departments maybe.

Do a Vehicle Check on the DVLA website. I would think that as the MOT has come through, the car is now listed on the new reg, so you need to be using that.

The DVLA acts in mysterious ways. When I did the same as you, the MOT and tax disc used to come sometimes a week before the new V5.

Knowing the above, I used to get plates made up using the Certificate of Entitlement before I sent it off with the V5 to be applied.
