Good. They're 24/7 around here and are chiefly used by minicabbers to undertake as many people as they can

Live in Liverpool and they've actually been gone for about 9 months on trial. Wouldn't say its saved me that much time probably 10 minutes each way on an hour commute, but they have done roadworks on every road pretty much whilst they have been off.

All the buses did have an advertising campaign of 'save our bus lanes' which was good for a inner LOL moment

I love bus lanes! I never travel by bus, but the ones in Bristol make great cycle lanes! I cycle to work most days, takes about 30 minutes, rarely see a bus in one, just fellow cyclists...

Bus lanes would be much less of an inconvenience to car drivers if they realised they can drive in them for much of the day. I'm having to make daily visits to hospital in Sheffield at the moment and I seem to be the only driver aware of the hours when cars drivers are permitted to use bus lanes, passing all the queueing leemings without a care in the world.

The bus lanes are still there but signs are up saying to use them. I regularly commute into the city centre, people still blindly queue up outside of the bus lanes, much like outside lane sitting.

Suits me currently, people who can't read don't use them.

Has made a big difference though, traffic just flows better.

Of course... the roads/junctions were not designed with bus lanes in mind.

Ultimately, if you increase capacity/minimise starting and stopping, traffic will flow better.

It's things like turning left through a bus lane or just simply more volume that seems to have helped.
I find it seems really backward when I go to towns/cities with bus lanes in use now.

I don't understand bus lanes. Why do poor people have to get to places quicker than I do?

Applies to Taxi's also - why is their occupants time deemed more important to mine?

Totally agree, so many people don't read signs then give you dirty looks / gestures when you pass them.
Although, the lanes that are 7am - 7pm (such as Holloway Rd) have only a 1 or 2 minute sweet spot between lane opening and people parking. It took crackerjack timing when I had to drive down there from work every day!
