Older shape up to 2008 reg, what is a real world mpg? Including giving it some stick and not driving like miss daisy everywhere. Is 30mpg achievable?

I regularly get North of 36 mpg, & if I really try I have managed a combined 40 mpg for a whole tank!
If your driving like you stole it all the time you should make 30

Driving it like you stole it (properly) will see below 20 mpg on the trip computer. No idea how accurate it is as i never checked it.

Don't buy a Fiesta st if you wish for 30mpg, the EP3 Type r returns better mpg overall.

Test drive one?

Some like it, some don't.

If you're worried about the MPG of these cars when driving them quickly then don't bother with them. You'll end up driving like Miss Daisy, worrying about your fuel bills and paying through the nose through insurance, tax and consumables for a car that you drive no quicker than the cooking version.

That is one drawback of the EP3 in VTEC - shocking consumption but outside of VTEC it's not too bad.

OP - you're best off with a diesel golf bluemotion (about the same pace as a ST i would think)

I used to get 34mpg out of mine when I was 18, so wasn't the lightest with my right foot
However most people I know get low to mid 20s round town

The driving style, type of driving, road conditions, and how well maintained the car is will have to be taken into consideration to get an accurate figure on the mpg. These type of cars don't fall into the economy category though.

I got a very consistent 35MPG out of mine.

They are fairly short geared, so they will be revving relatively highly at anything beyond motorway speeds.

Great cars, I do miss mine. Good fun, very reliable, awful customer service from Ford though.

Happy to be of any further advice if I can help?
