The most reliable diesel mpv?
Discussion
The sensible car I purchased without the wife present has been rejected. So I'm now tasked with finding an mpv. The key features being reliability, diesel, cruse control and air con and a budget of about 6k.
Tempted by Toyota verso's but the 2.2 appears to be a jinxed engine and 2.0 are rare.
Ideas?

I had a CMax for a while replacing a Mondeo. From 27k to 114k it just had servicing and that was it. The Mondeo had injectors, DMF, clutch, starter, bushes here there and everywhere and the PAS pump had given up. The fuel pump wasnt far behind it
I'd take a punt on another CMax, the one I had was the 2.0 TDCi PSA engine and it was torquey enough

Father in laws 2004 seat Alhambra has been brilliant and still going strong at 190k.
Basically a galaxy underneath but has all the toys including the heated front screen which is great.
I do like a heated screen. Basically a galaxy underneath but has all the toys including the heated front screen which is great.
Ford is apparently part of the current cars issue... But seat I might get away with.

He has the 130 pd engined se model and its a nice drive, getting a bit tired suspension wise now but still very useable.Ford is apparently part of the current cars issue... But seat I might get away with.
As above well kitted out, used to do average of about 40-43 mixed driving, high 40s on a run. very comfortable but a little crashy over bad surfaces.
We towed a 1400kg caravan with ours and it was excellent for that.
However its a big old bus if you only want/need 5 seats.
