PCP deals at £20,000 - What are my options?

Hi Guys,
I love cars, but I know very little about them.
Today I went shopping for my first car.
At the local Audi dealership they tried talking me into buying a 13 month old S-Line A3 with 7,000 miles on the clock.
It was lovely, but they wanted £350 a month for it for 48 months!
I'd prefer something at around the £300 mark for 24-36 months.
My ignorance of recent cars, means I have no bloody idea what alternatives are out there.
I like nice alloys, and the S-Line A3 has a great interior finish without looking too ugly on the outside, similarly priced is the Scirocco - which is also tasty looking.
Are there any superior alternatives at a similar price that I should be looking at?
