Hi Guys. Thought I would start a new thread after my initial question about the A3 with a mileage anomaly.

I'm fairly new to car buying and I am learning a lot as I go.

I have found another A3 that looks good with a FSH, but I have noticed that the MOT says "Make/Model: AUDI / A3 SPORT FSI recorded at time of test, changed to AUDI / A3 on 23/02/2010 by DVLA."

This was in addition to a change in numberplate at the same time, which was then changed back to the original a few years later.

Is this cause for concern? Is it possible that they may have switched out the engine? Or is it just a mistake?

Thanks!

When the numberplate was changed DVLA would have had to reissue the MOT to reflect the new reg number. It seems to me that the garage that did the MOT at that time described the car as Audi A3 Sport Fsi, but the person in DVLA just described it as Audi A3.
I presume it is an fsi, if so there is no reason to think this refers to an engine change.

I guess that makes sense actually. Thanks for the reply!
