That opening paragraph sums it up for me. Despite all the "yeah well it used to be better" "bring group B back" debacle, it all seems to fade into insignificance when you hear that rasp, that inimitable bark echoing through a wet, dark forest. It stirs something inside, teasing you as it flits nearer, further, then suddenly in a flash of light, flame and that smell of red hot brakes doused in mud. And then it's all over for another minute.

Oh man I can't wait for next weekend now! Despite the organisers last year fking up car parks and employing one complete cretin (only one out of the many many great marshals that make this event possible), they've still got my money and I've just resolved to get there earlier, stay there longer and find some really unique viewing spots this year.
