Car aerial connector
Discussion
Ok, I have Googled and Googled but cannot find what I am after.
I need to replace the aerial on my Volvo. The old one has a female aerial socket, so there is a male aerial connector on the end of the wire inside the boot which plugs into this old aerial. The new aerial has a (non-removable) lead with a male connector on the end.
These are just standard aerial connectors:
(like this but on a cable).
So I need a female to female lead/connector.
Do you think I can find one (in the UK)? I have found some which look correct but they are all overseas.
Any suggestions please? Thanks

Try http://cpc.farnell.com/ they will either do the lead or sell you the bits to make it up.
Give this lot a ring>>>

They're extremely helpful, equally knowledgeable and their stuff, once you've identified it, is available on EBay, so you can get it whenever you like.
Simon.

Buy 2 of these and make up a short lead using a piece cable cut from the old aerial.
Edit: Thinking about it, buy just one socket and either:
a. cut the female end off the old aerial with a few inches of cable and add the new socket to the other end to make a short adapter.
or
b. cut the male end off the new aerial and replace with the new socket.

Thank for the replies.
Only place in the world who sells this is the link above in the USA, who want £10 P&P.
Really, why is this so hard?

It's because they'd sell about five a year, so it's not worth doing. Sometimes you have to put a little effort in Only place in the world who sells this is the link above in the USA, who want £10 P&P.

Looks like it. And for less than a fiver it should be worth a punt. Google for "Calearo" and you'll find other vendors.
.....right up until the seller contacted to say out of stock and refunded my money....
