I bought a car 1 month ago today and I'm still yet to receive the log book. I know I'm meant to wait 6 weeks or something but I was just wondering if anyone knew about a backlog or anything? I'm just looking for something to tell my old man who keeps bugging me to ring the DVLA rolleyes

I did send in my old Tax Disc for a refund about 4 weeks ago, nothing back as yet. Pretty sure they said it would be 6 weeks though...

Push for a replacement (free of charge), could be Royal Fail's fault.

I just had a VED refund come through in less than a week, so there is life in at least one corner of Swansea's computer systems.

I've sold a car 3 weeks ago and still haven't had notification of sale and therefore no tax refund yet.

I brought a bike 4 weeks ago and still haven't had the V5c despite the old owner sending it off the day after I picked it up.

I bought a car 3 weeks ago and have had nothing yet, normally would have expected the v5c by now.

Massive pain as I taxed it the day I picked it up but now need to sorn it - the online system doesnt recognise my new keepers supplement reference and I have no disk to take to a post office for a refund. -_-

Becuase there was a massive gap in the form to attach it to, and they'd just sent me it out when I took the private plate off. Even though I don't think they were needed at the time, I didn't fancy giving them an excuse to send it back as the form was uncompleted.

They are great at sending reminders, asking for money, or sending new registered logbooks out. However, anything returned to them seems to get lost in the internal system for months at the moment. 5 months for my Landrover logbook, 3.5 months for my rover, its a nightmare!

I've been waiting about 20 years now for them to be reasonable, rational and efficient.

Waiting for a V5 for 3 weeks now, pretty normal period in my experience.
