What did I see ?

This evening driving up the M1 between J24 and J25 a group of 5 vehicles all with sirens wailing and blue lights flashing. What was strange about them was the different types of vehicle involved.
A Hyundai Santa Fe , BMW 5 series , Mercedes Benz Viano , Volvo V50 (57) and a Mercedes Benz A class (new model) quite a strange combination and not the usual BiB stuff.

Any ideas or theories, speculation, or does anybody even know ?

Can't provide any ideas however I saw the same on the M6 a while back when the convoy consisted of: a Discovery, a Mini Cooper S, a 3-Series, a Golf and an A4. Can only assume it was a bunch of plainclothes Police officers racing to an incident.

I was going to post that too; they overtook me on the A14 / M1 junction. The first was a Leon and they all seemed to be the same colour.

I've seen the same sort of thing. Black Mazda 3 and 57 reg Ford Focus, not so strange, but then a BMW 1 Series Coupe which isn't usual police stuff.

I think I might have saw something like a Sante fe or a Honda CR-V with blue lights on it a couple of days ago.

It stood out as being a bit cheaper than the usual 4X4s, and it seemed to have quite a lot of blue lights on it, even looking like the roof rack had lights along the front length of the bars.

Unmarked as far as I could tell, it looked more like a paramedic car if it wasn't for the lack of markings.
