November with a vengeance, not unexpected, but driving home tonight after dark we had heavy rain, wind, lots of cloud so quite a dark night.
Part of my route is a "B" road, but quite a good one, as good as some A roads in the south-west say.

In the 30 limit, with street lights, I was happy to do 25-30mph, hazards permitting. End of village, just before limit changes to 50mph, and street lights end, Audi(?) behind closes up on my tail (1 to 2 car-lengths gap). Now I know that there are big puddles / small floods ahead, but I'm not sure where they are, and there's plenty of oncoming traffic with headlights on, some badly adjusted.

You can probably guess my thinking here, and I must download the dash cam sometime, but I wasn't going to do 50, yet I was overtaken by clearly annoyed drivers from further back in the queue, using marginal gaps in the oncoming traffic, or even on double white lines. When I slowed for the biggest small-flood, the car behind flashed a lot and came even closer.

So how fast would you go, for the 2 miles to the next village with another 30 limit?

You upset a few drivers how fast did you go 40/45mph? You know the road difficult for me to judge.

I can't comment about the OP's situation but I'm flipping tired of the muppets who slow to 20 mph or less whenever it rains around here. Are they plain scared of the wet?

Folk around here drive like they've got slicks on every time it rains, does my flaming nut in. You don't have to brake for every corner!!

Depends on what you drive.
I've been in positions where cars with 1/14th of the power I have - are booting it past me without a care.

Light car, very wide track focused tyres, notable BHP, and hair trigger throttle - are terrifying in monsoon/ winter conditions. Fiat Panda's just hooned it past without an issue.
I was sweating it just keeping it between the white lines.

As fast as the prevailing conditions, my ability, road knowledge, and knowledge of my cars abilities will allow.

I can't give an exact speed, if that's what you're looking for.
