As per title,
Looking for something with the following specs;
Realtime (or near enough) tracking
Use anywhere in the world
Can be hardwired and run on its own battery too
Geofencing capabilities
Theft/Tampering/Speeding alerts
Fuel monitoring (not a necessity)
Remote engine cutoff
Engine hours monitoring
All of the above being viewable from a PC/Smartphone
Must work in a machine like a dozer with primitive electrics

Reason I ask is for a dozer that's being hired out abroad. People are nicking fuel out of it and just generally abusing it when the owner is not around. Money is no object in this case, but it can't be anything with a monthly subscription.

Sounds like a job for an immobiliser rather than a tracker, and I don't see how either of them is going to help with the fuel theft problem.

Some trackers do have immobilisers, I did specify I was looking for something like that If alerts are given when fuel is low when you know how much is in there and how long it should last that's pretty handy. The tracker would also tell the owner where the vehicle is working at a particular time, and for how long, which helps eliminate the problem of abusing the machine, because the owner can either cut it off(immobiliser) or charge extra for overtime (one days work =8 hours in this business apparently)

Would it be worth asking your local police? I'd imagine they'd have an idea of what works in the real world.Rural forces usually have a team that deals with this sort of crime.

Police are a waste of time where the machine is based.

Been looking into some Chinese made trackers that seem pretty decent but the model numbers are used for hundreds of devices all with different sspecs, and the rough translation doesn't help. Has anybody come across anythingtried and tested?

Why can't it have a subs?

And does it have to be something that can be fitted DIY?

It can't have a subscription because that's the owners preference, and most of them don't work abroad, but if they did work worldwide I don't see why not, And yes ideally a DIY fit because it's going abroad.

No it's in West Africa at the moment. I know this should have all been done before it was exported.

I doubt you'll get something like that without a monthly subscription.

Also some of your features may not be possible depending on how old the dozer is. Fuel monitoring for example will be a hell of a lot easier with a common rail engine rather than a mechanical pump.

Tracker seems to do what you want but EU only. Dont know if they do worldwide but maybe worth an ask.

Already asked Tracker. Not worldwide unfortunately.

Good thread. Thanks. I was looking at the TK102 and it's related products. I didn't know it did realtime, thought it only gave locations upon request but obviously not. Thanks. They are dead cheap as well and work worldwide.

Had a look at these, and I do like the radio signal feature, but they are purely for tracking the vehicle once it's been stolen, not the day to day monitoring I am looking for. Cheers though.
