Good Evening everyone,

Some of you may be familiar with my previous 'what could go wrong?' post.

For those who aren't, here it is: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Basically it didn't end well.

Anyway, I thought I would give it another go!

I had a boring Seat Ibiza which was my daily driver, while fixing my Toyota MR2 (which i still have).

So i decided enough boring motoring was enough, and took the plunge. Spotted an rx8 local to me, thought it was worth a punt to see if he would fancy a swap! (you dont ask you dont get)

A few text messages and a telephone conversation later the deal was done.

Swapped my practical 2005 75,000 mile Seat Ibiza for this.

2004 Mazda Rx8 231 with 110,000 miles (thankfully its had a rebuild 8k ago)
Xenons
Bose Stereo
Full Service History
12 Months MOT

Picked it up Friday evening and i'm SO happy i made the change.

Did a nice little drive to Betys y Coed on Saturday to get to know it properly, drives great, the high revving rotary engine is great in my eyes and the sound is addictive, massive bangs when your changing on the redline.

Hopefully this one will last longer than 4 days biggrin

Will get some more pics when i can...

RWD car + roundabout = lamppost. Nice work, you think you'd know better coming from an MR2 wink

Good on you for posting it up and giving it another go, RX8's are such good value if you can live with the pitfalls.

i crashed a fwd car going round a corner into the 'Please drive safely sign', slipping on some 'split diesel', so we all had an off par moment.

nice car and good on you getting back in the saddle.

I did see the original thread! Take it easy this time, and maybe consider an airfield day / skid pan session to learn what it's all about.

Of what, the RX-8's seller? Who the hell would nick a 110k RX-8? hehe

I'd have wanted something more in return for an RX-8 with a rebuilt engine than a econobox....
