I've been doing the rounds of dealers and test drives over the last few weekends. I was interested (and still am) in the A8 3.0 TDI quattro but saw an S8 in a showroom and was intrigued. Having subsequently read a lot of reviews and watched some video tests of the S8, I've become even more interested in it...to the extent that I'm seriously considering a 4 litre V8 petrol car after 10 years of diesels. I even have a very decent offer on the table from a local dealer on a new one.

So I'm interested in the views of S8 owners.

Talk me into it. Or indeed out of it!

£22K off at DTD

That's some serious discount.

Then again, that's E63 moneyyes

I've always loved S8'S. Far better than some miserable diesel.

Hi,

I don't own one, but have travelled in few:

Good choice, get the V8, nowhere near as thirsty as you might think driving normally.

3.5 sec 0-60 and epic traction

Very very handsome car.

Expect 590bhp and ignore the published figures.

Massively underrated.

Go for it thumbup

£22k discount and £27k GFV certainly makes the PCP interesting. I take the point about the E63 but I just find the S8 more interesting - more space, nicer interior, 4WD and that blistering acceleration off the line.

I think I'm rapidly talking myself into it.

Any S8 owners that think I shouldn't do it?
