might be tricky to find one outside of ebay try your local car audio/alarm shop might still have some old stock in a dusty unopened box in the back store otherwise I'd be finding a used one from ebay.

Junk shops must have some. I've got a 95 honda civis cassette radio if you can figure out the code to turn it on.

I might have the one from a Mondeo MK II in the loft.

Or are you looking for a single DIN?

Is it you or your parents that think Ebay will take all your money off your credit card? JEEZ, there are some scams about but I'd say you are just as likely to fall for some fake PPI scam as find the 1 in so many thousands of ebay users who take the piss.

Anyhow, I agree with one of the other posters that the only way you are likely to find a brand new in the box cassette deck is if one has been sat around for a few years. There was a thread on here aaages ago about the last cars sold with Cassette decks and that seemed to be around 2010-11 ish.

It's a bit of a long shot but depending on the age of the car it may even be worth asking the manufacture/dealer network as they may have unused cassette decks from customers who upgraded to CD.

Car boot sale

Ask anyone over the age of 50 who will have one in their garage " as I wont throw that out as it cost a lot of money its such a throwaway society these days, and after the nuclear zombie apocalypse none of this modern digital rubbish will work grumble grumble......."

and yes I am over 50

seriously think you will have more trouble connecting it to the modern car electrics, in my day they had to be spliced in moderns tend to be plug and play.

tape to usb and burn to cd, cd player in car will be less grief!

When I worked for a Ford indy in Sussex they had a shelf full of old head units from old cars,
Most were cassette players too, worth asking around a few garages.

I've got a double DIN one out of a 2006(55) plate Corsa, will probably need VIN coding though.

What car OP?

cars a zafira, single din I think.

think they've tried a few old decks from car brand x and keep running into coding issues.

I'm keen to make some helpfull suggestions and leave it at that lest I become responsible.

Aah yes happy days: does anyone else miss the miles and miles of discarded cassette tape which used to adorn the central reservation of all Britain's motorways?

I'll have a look in the loft and if I have one you can have it FOC. I seem to remember a box of old car bits that was never thrown out.

It might be old though. Like this. I'm certain that the Mondeo one is there.

surprised no-one makes a cheap basic radio cassette still. there must be a decent number of the older generation for whom the transition to digital media simply isn't worth the hassle over swapping out the deck?

I've got a collection of the things in the garage. JVC, Alpine, Skoda OE and Citroen OE IIRC.

£10 plus postage each. If you're interested, I'll get the exact details/model numbers for you.

I know that I'm being picky when we're talking about such a cheap purchase, but the seller of the Zafira radio has this line in their returns policy? That would put me off.
