When my kids outgrow the back of our Evora, is there a replacement car out there with the following criteria? This would be a garaged weekend car only, so not a daily driver. Car can be any age (the newer the better) and either hard or soft top, but needs to be something special.

1) 4 seats (or at least 2+2 big enough for 2 growing kids)
2) 0 - 60mph max. 5.0 seconds
3) Manual
4) Budget GBP 60,000-ish
5) Sexy styling (i.e. probably not a saloon)
6) Low depreciation
7) Low mileage (say max. 40,000 miles)
8) Reasonable servicing costs for a low annual mileage (say 3,000 miles)
9) Max length 4.8 metres
10) Max. width 2.0 metres (mirrors extended); 1.85 metres (mirrors folded)

Any suggestions for a car which ticks all these boxes, or am I going to have to compromise on something?

997 or 991 911 surely?

Meets all your criteria, particular the good looking 991. They should be reaching the £60k point now.

Case in point.

What's your definition of low depreciation? How much of your £60k do you want to get back after, say, 1 year, or 5 years?

Maserati Quattroporte?

Aston Rapide?

YOu can get recent-ish examples of either for less than £60k and they would satisfy the growing kids requirement while still (IMHO) looking he part?

Does a Tesla Model S qualify, might fail on length?

Not sure you can get them for 60K yet either.

Or manual hehe

That looks nice. What is the rear seating like on these: I always thought they were pretty unusable (says the Evora owner! laugh)

A bit long and manuals never seem to come up for sale. Also concerns about service costs for what little miles I'll be doing.

I would expect to keep this one long term, so at least 5 years. I know no-one can say for certain, but certain models tend to fare better than others in this department. The depreciation issue is something I would have to decide on, so just keep the suggestions coming.

Aren't these all self-shifters?

Ford Mustang GT (or Shelby) new one or outgoing one, meets all the requirements

(OK, width-wise might be a squeeze)

Maserati Gran Turismo? I think it should just be under your size limit, though they're all Auto or MC shift.

Fails spectacularly on styling though.

2012 to 2014 Mustang should be well within budget and meets all the requirements.

2012-2014 Mustang:

Length: 188.2" (4.78m)
Width (mirrors out): 73.9" (1.87m)

Edit: should have double checked

I figured as much, however a pal had one and as well as utterly reliable it was a fantastic thing to drive (his an F1 gearbox).

Going left field, how about an e30 M3 and something else nice as a daily driver?
