Further McLaren Sports Series teasing

So apparently miniskirts and the new Mclaren sports car have something in common...

The McLaren Sports Series will have dihedral doors. And carbon mirrors. And, er, well what else can you see from this pic? Ah yes, wheels.

There we are, it has doors and wheels

You get the impression the reveal process for the junior McLaren will be tortuous. Today we've been shown #BLACKSWANMOMENT number three which is the miniskirt. No really, look on the website. How is this one of those moments? McLaren defines one as an instance that "challenges beliefs and turns thinking upside down". That was from the original rather pretentious video, the idea being the Sports Series will do that to the 911 market segment. So it sort of makes sense, just in a massively overwrought way.

The miniskirt comparison is only number three of McLaren's planned 13 (!) black swan moments so lord knows what else is planned before the car's debut in 2015. We're only doing this because it's McLaren and the Sports Series should be a fantastic sports car. Let's hope some real information comes out of a damn black swan moment soon.

Kudos to Mclaren for including the scissor doors on the baby car, an un-expected surprise!

Friend of mine has just landed in Barcelona where he has to wrap 2 McLaren cars. Could they be this model?

AMG GT and this new Mclaren are making the £100k-ish sector extremely interesting.

This is going to make the "just below ridiculously priced exotic" class a much more interesting place to shop.

It wouldn't be that hard getting images if you know where to look, my old office was on the site where they did a lot of development saw the MP12 and P1 going through the development testing.

I don't get the negativity in these PH editorials. Every car company does this sort of thing now. You're sounding like grumpy old men.

And it makes a change to all those Autocar "renderings".

Are there any significant USP's left for the 650?

Can't see too many standard 650's being ordered when this comes out?

Remember when we were told the 650 was to be built alongside the 12C, we all know what happened then.......
