hi

does anyone know if its possible to do say a large initial payment for lower monthly payments?

or if its possible to do block payments?

obviously it will vary company to company i was just wondering if anyone has asked for this and how common it is and did they let you

I've never seen anything other than 2 options:

(1) Monthly payments
(2) All up front

You could just borrow the balance from someone else to pay the insurers up front and pay the person back at a smaller monthly rate. But seems a rather complex way to go about paying for insurance unless your family would do it to help you out.

As reply above, but do it with an interest free credit card.

I would avoid all company or broker payment plans like the plague, APRs tend to be 20%+. The credit card option is definitely the smartest.

a lot of the brokers offer you all sorts of payment plans

I've had 1 offer for the payments to be made in 2, 4 ,6 or 10 payments
But i've learned it's generally cheaper to just stick it on a credit card than use one of these 3rd party payment plans

I nearly always do this. Manage your own payments, over a year or less, without any interest charge for not paying up front.
