Hello,
Happened a short while ago... Recently (1 week?) I had my cam cover changed & car serviced, all going well until today. Was driving home, heard a clunk so looked in the rear view mirror and couldn't see anything rolling away so assumed it was a large stone or something in the road. (however I now think it may be something like a oil drain plug....)
Short while later I start hearing the cams tapping, the higher I rev the louder the tapping.
The car is now parked outside the garage who changed the cam cover & I will go in first thing tomorrow to have a chat.
Before I get there though, just want to hear if any of you know what it could be, how serious it is and potential for lasting damage i.e. is this indicative that my engine is f'd or is it probably something simple like the clearances need re-doing?
The car is a honda civic 2004 EP3 type r, if that helps

If it was an oild drain plug you'd likely see the oil on the floor underneath the car. For changing the cam cover there'd be no need that I can think of to lock/unlock the cams, but it could be liftr related. Hard to tell without looking/hearing what it would be, could just be a loose bolt on the cover that wasnt done up properly. Think I'd go round them first and see what sounds like it's not right
