Problem with powdercoated alloys
Discussion
I got a set of alloys powdercoated recently and when I went to fit them on the car they wouldn't fit. It looks like they have put to much powder on the bore of the wheel resulting in them not fully fitting over the hub of the car.
Has anyone else ever experienced this?
The company that did the work came with good recommendations and I have still to contact them about it but was wondering what the solution would be, can you sand down powdercoat or would it be a full strip and re powdercoat?

It should scrape off with a Stanely or other suitable implement. Give the exposed surface a good coat of copper or silicone grease to prevent the spigot corroding and binding to the hub.
This /\Also make sure that the wheel's mating surface with the hub is free of any powder coating (sandpaper will do the trick) since this will melt under very hard and prolonged braking resulting in some wierd wobble through the steering wheel. The merest smear of copper grease (very thin!) on the hub mating surfaces should mean you'll be able to get the alloys off when needed in future.
