We know that Christmas is regarded as a bad time to sell a car, but does this make it a good time to buy a car? Having looked around, there does seem to be less cars available to buy?

Guess it would largely depend on the car? Good time to buy a convertible, for example..

Im looking at something like a Mondeo ST220 to get me through the next 12 months or so while I decide what to replace my M5 with.

December is actually quite a good time to sell your car, its a busy time for used car dealers, lots of demand in Dec, January is when the market for used is extra quiet and you might get a bargain if looking to buy.

Hmmm, I was told it was a bad time. We're currently trying to sell my gf's 1.2 Twingo and have had very little interest in it, despite it being well priced for a 2 year old car with low mileage and the Renault Service pack. It's looking like we may end up trading it in against something else for me at some point if this carries on.

Are you looking at buying privately, or from a dealer?

Dealers tend to run stock down now as it'll likely sit there until the new year, when many people will see it as another year older.

Either or tbh, where ever the car is cheaper at.
