Low rise car ramps..?
Discussion
Any recommendations? I need to do an oil and filter change on Hawndah. It's lowered 30mm so can't get a regular trolley jack under it and don't really fancy using the emergency scissor jack.
Wondering if it would be easier (and safer?) to get some low rise ramps and choc it up on them. Any thoughts / recommendations?

I've got a Halfords low profile jack for mine, It's great, and is a good size for the car
This. It's a CTR dropped 30mm, it's not that low, a low profile jack should be fine. Though the Halfords one isn't great, you can't really lower it slowly (and they're a bunch of knobbers anyway).scarble said:

It can lurch about a lot, but you've got to be so careful lowering it onto axel stands. I didn't and nearly shot a stand through the bloody car. I've got a halfords one, so if you want to check it fits drop me a PM.
Can I ask, what is the safest way to use axle stands? Jack the car up using the jacking points on the chassis, then slip the axle stands on e.g. a suspension component (wishbone?) - looking at the axles on my civic sport (2005) im not sure I want to rest the weight of the car on them using axle stands.
Not had to use axle stands ever before, and I want to work safely both for me and my car.
