Suzuki Swift vs RS 133
Discussion
Yet another question set from myself!!
After being moved away from the idea of a BMW and other larger cars and hot hatches being expensive for insurance!!
So two have popped up,
Suzuki sport and the RS133 twingo,
Thoughts and experience on these two at all? they are affordable and id pay that bit extra to get something worth keeping!!

My friend has the Twingo 133 with the cup pack. Had it for 3 years now. Had nothing but trouble with it. It is very annoying as well. Had to remove scuttle just to change spark plugs..... O2 sensors failing and his only has thirty odd thousand on the clock. His previous car was a Suzuki Ignis Sport which he wishes he kept now.
My girlfriend had one of the later Swift Sports, good little car, it handled well and had a brisk turn of speed - enough to make it properly fun to punt down a b-road. On top of that it was cheap to run/maintain and we never had any problems with it.
The only fly in the ointment was the seating position which was too high for my liking (I'm 5 foot 9" so not overly tall), it made me feel as if I was on the car, and not in it.
I'd recommend checking one out, can't speak for the Twingo though, I've never driven one.

Mrs AngryDog has a Twingo 133. Its the non Cup pack one - I'd hate to drive a Cup pack one as the suspension is VERY hard. Small bumps feel like mountains. Its a nippy little thing, but I wouldn't call it hot. It is small inside. I'm 5'10 and I while I can drive it with the seat fully back, my legs are not as straight as I'd like them to be. How JC got in it and drove it I do not know!
Its got cruise control, air con, speed limiter (cool little feature, you set your speed and you can go below it, but not over it - perfect for 50mph roadworks with Specs camera's) and they are a decent looking little thing. Hers does have the 17" Cup wheels in black (red car) which look nice.
All in all, I like it. 5th is quite short, 70mph is around 3500RPM (my M5 in 6th is 2400RPM) and its averaged 36mpg since she has had it (according the obc).
I haven't really chucked it about yet, she hasn't let me

If you're looking at a Swift and a Renaultsport 133. Have you considered a Grande Punto T-Jet?
120hp. Turbocharged, easily tuneable with a bigger turbo which is a bolt on.
Cheap to insure. Just renewed mine, 20, 2 years no claims with business miles, £700.
bought a 58 plate in march this year for £4250, ended up paying 3k to swap. Great car. Appreciates premium tyres. Munched through the set of linglong ditch-finders it came on in 5000 miles. Although, I may have not have helped that...

I was going to say, im 6ft 1 and surely would fit easily in it? The only fly in the ointment was the seating position which was too high for my liking (I'm 5 foot 9" so not overly tall), it made me feel as if I was on the car, and not in it.

I agree as they are relatively cheap to buy, cheap to insure and they look good. Also the torque makes it feel like a non-turbo 1.8 and it's got quite long gearing for the power so it's good on the motorway. The steering isn't fantastic, but it's a good first warm hatch. Not sure if the 'Evo' line up has a 'T-jet' engine anymore though, it may just be the 'Abarth' that gets it? That's if the OP is buying new not used.120hp. I still think overall I'd prefer the new Swift Sport, but I've not driven one.

I always fancied a Twingo RS Gordini. I hace driven a Gordini 100 and I quite liked it.
Always have been a fan of the Swift, but never wanted one.
In the end I got a Lupo GTI which I really can't recommend enough.
Great little car and compared to the twingo it feels solid, more serious/mature if you know what I mean. Well, it's a german car afterall.

Yeah those cars have electrically assisted steering and while composed in the corners, you have to guess how much lock to put on to get you through. Literally no feedback whatsoever...I still think overall I'd prefer the new Swift Sport, but I've not driven one.
