Mysterious Swiss Seven-alike claims to be 'ultimate thrill-injecting machine for petrolheads'

Anyone got that Heath Ledger 'not sure if serious' meme to hand? That was the first reaction in the bustling PH newsroom this morning upon receipt of an email from 'Yummy Motors' and its excitement about unveiling the 'thrill injecting' XCTr.

Long-time Viz fans may well detect a whiff of the Satsuma Castanet XR4 Turbo in both the XCTr's looks and the language of the website, which is big on promise but thin on detail. The possibly painful sounding process of 'injecting thrill' crops up numerous times, Yummy Motors promising "performance on hypercar level", "amazingly late braking points and breathtaking cornering speeds" while also boasting of ease of maintenance and green credentials too.

Other details from the press release include a (possibly explosive, going by the graphic) naturally aspirated front-mid engine, manual gearbox, rear-wheel drive, light weight and compact dimensions. Which is kind of what you'd expect of what would seem to be a cubist interpretation of a Caterham Seven/Westfield/Donkervoort/delete as applicable.

There is also a video on YouTube of the XCTr busy injecting thrill somewhere on a mountain road and a sign-off from 'Philipp Anderegg, owner'.

More information on the car as and when we get it. For now see the Yummy Motors website for more. Well, not that much more as yet.

I like rooting for the underdog but, ummm, it looks a bit c**p? From the back it is a squashed mini.

Looks like a classic case of "I was never allowed Lego as a child" syndrome.

How can anyone have designed that, looked at it and thought that it looks good? Did they not get any outside opinions?

Is it 1st April?
That must be some kind of bad joke that anyone could design such an ugly looking sports car, with looks like that is should be crushed.

Renault called- they want all those Megane II rear windows back.

That front end is really hard to look at, I'm a 7 fan in most its forms but this is rather eyewatering.

On the plus side, it makes the Zenos look good :-)

Checks date (not 1st April).

Sorry this must be a joke.

Yummy Motors XCTr - take a Caterham and add some flat panels (it still looks like there's a 7 inside waiting to be set free)! smile

Yup, looks like a caterham still in its shipping crate!

A very grim looking thing.

I bet it ends up costing 100 grand too.
