If this is a fault recognised by the manufacturer then I would imagine their website would tell you, else a quick call to them as this could differ quite alot depending on said manufacturer.

I think the only way you're going to get an official answer to this will be to escalate the problem to their national customer services dept via telephone, e-mail, twitter etc. I doubt the other franchised garage is going to be interested in providing free rectification work for the sister garage unless the manager there is pretty certain he's not going to be left out of pocket for the labour.

I believe it's standard practice to return supposedly faulty tyres back to the manufacturer for inspection so the refund process for the cost of the tyre to kwik-fit will probably be quite a drawn out process.

Oh and what's the fault? If it something that is going to be obvious to kwik-fit when you return it?

You brought the tyres from kwik fit. Your contract is with them.

I'd probably call/email customer services first. In branch they may refuse. However they have no right to tell you that you need to go to the manufacture.

Phone the branch manager where they were fitted (if you can) and tell him you propose to go to local branch and ask him/her?!! to have a word with the branch manager there prior to your arrival.

Do everything in a polite but firm but moreso friendly way rather than defensive and you are likely to be helped.

Wrong. It's where he bought them from that's important.

We had the tracking do by a kwik fit, and they gave us a leaflet with a load of companies on (tyre plus autocentres) and said we could go to any of then if we weren't happy.
