Morning all
I'm in the market for a (tidy) small to medium size van, something bigger than a car-van, but not full size sprinter.
I need to be able to set up a small office with a few screens in the back.

Whats the best sort of thing out there? im expecting it to be about 10 years old at that price with 120k on it...

I've looked at a Transit connect, which is a possibility, but something slightly bigger would appeal too.

Citroen Dispatch sounds the ideal size. Never run one but run plenty of 1.9HDI's in Berlingo's and such, great engine.

ETA You can get different size connects:

£1,500 doesn't give you a lot of options though unfortunately.

Actually yes - I'm starting up in aerial photography and surveillance, so the darker and more epic the station in the back the better :-D

Unfortunately not, i havent got anywhere safe to keep a large trailer - also its a big faff to hitch it up when i could just get in and drive a van to a job.

That's if it starts hehe

I am receiving a new transporter Monday, the final van to be upgraded in my fleet, I was sick and tired of vans breaking down and throwing big bills, a £1,500 van will probably look like a shed with tatty paint etc too so not ideal for promoting a business IMO.

If your set on £1,500, I'd definitley be looking to buy the best Dispatch/Expert 1.9HDI I could find. Don't touch Ford at that money, you can hear them corroding around you boxedin

ETA: Don't buy on age or mileage, condition and history far more important

Excellent.

Extra points for good signage!

I owned a Peugeot Expert 1.9TD for 5 years. Never let me down and absolutely flew when empty. It was better for me than a Connect as its payload was 900kg! Useful being a market trader.
If I was after another one though, I would get the latter 2.0TDi engine. We've got one in our yard and it's much smoother and economical.
Wouldn't look at anything else.
