Selling My Car and Number Plate Transfer
Discussion
Ive sold my car and its due to be collected soon. I have a private plate on my car which i need to transfer.
Whats is the safest way to do this if the car is going to be collect in the next five days.
This is what a car dealer suggested to me:
I provide the buyer with receipt of sale which will prove that he owns the car, aliong with the money transaction info
I hold onto the V5 until the buyer is able to see it for him self (to prove i have the v5)
I then send the number plate transfer paper work to the DVLA and provide copies to the buyer
With the sale receipt the driver is the legal owner of the car, when the v5 arrives back to my address i submit the paper work to change the keepers name
With the receipts and transaction infio I have no claim the car?
Have any other car dealers or sellers done this before and is it too risky for the buyer?

Is this the same illegally spaced plate you evidently got a court summons for earlier this year

Nothing happened dude I strutted in to court and strutted out. So everyone knew the police were correct however it turns out the law decided I was. I didn't even have to pay a fine. It was a awesome day. Just remember that there are more many, many police officers out there that will abuse there power.
