On the way to work this morning there was a normal queue of traffic out of my street (to which I turn right)
No traffic coming down the road as ever.
An old man is a stty little old Korean box thing leaves a gap for me to get in so I swing out and go into the gap. (traffic was moving at crawling pace) and as I pull into the gap he beeps his horn repeatedly drives up the curb on my left, and then positions his car in a way which means I can no longer pull in. I just had to let him on around my (up the curb!) and then he had the cheek to stick his fingers up at me!
The man behind him in the Mondeo was killing himself laughing, when I looked behind at the Mondeo man he just shrugged his shoulders and mimed I have no idea.
I don’t really know what happened or why.
He left a gap for me to take, I took it and he went mad.
Small car syndrome?
How dare you take a gap in the traffic that I’ve been waiting in syndrome?

I am the blue car obviously and the traffic was crawling so I wouldn't have blocked anyone coming down the road (to which there never is in the morning.

You say he left a gap for you, but maybe the gap wasn't meant for you, maybe he had something else in mind?

Maybe, but if the situation progressed in a manner he hadn't intended, he should adjust to it and behave accordingly; i.e. it doesn't excuse driving up the pavement to get "back to his place in the queue."

He was wearing glasses as a matter of fact.

He certainly should have, but I'm just trying to think why he might have done it, he must have been really cross even though he wasn't entitled to be.

The Korean car must be bloody short. Or the pavement is bloody wide. Maybe that's what the old man was angry about.

Loving the way you have drawn his car smaller than the others to emphasise your point wink

It was like smart car size.

Probably asleep/daydreaming, and left the gap as traffic moved. Or on his phone.
Then took offence as you 'pushed-in' in front of him.

What he said. Wasn't letting you in, went to move forward with flow of traffic to find you barging your way in (his perception) hence the hissy fit.

I had a more bizarre thing happen this morning. Traffic flowing fine in both directions at 30mph. Suddenly a white fiesta, without indicating and still at 30mph (certainly didn't appear to be braking) turned across the oncoming traffic, drove up the curb, generating an almighty cracking noise and dutifully came to a controlled halt in her driveway. Very peculiar. I expect her front wheel and/or suspension arms are in a state.
