Posted this in the barn finds pics threads in Classic cars forum, but think it might be of more general interest. Very sad to see so many amazing cars in such a sorry state (the ones below are much better than the rest!)

http://www.classicdriver.com/en/article/cars/exclu... (100 image gallery in top of article)

Cars include:

Bugatti 57 Ventoux
Delahaye 135 cabriolet Faget Varnet
Ferrari 250 GT California SWB
Hispano Suiza H6B cabriolet Millon-Guiet
Maserati A6G 2000 berlinetta Grand Sport Frua
Talbot Lago T26 Grand Sport coupé Saoutchik
Talbot Lago T26 Record coupé Saoutchik
Talbot Lago T26 cabriolet Saoutchik ex-Roi Farouk

Good that values are so high at the moment though so most will be restored.

Some of them are certainly going to take a good deal of restoration...

Puts many a "barn finds" to shame.

What are the rules for a barn find anyway?
Do you just claim the car as yours?
Put a flag down or something?

Amazing.

Though slight discrepancy in that the start of the article states "60 barn-find cars that have been discovered after lying hidden for 50 years". Whereas at least three of the cars are in the range of no older than 38 years (Ferrari 400) and as young as 29 years (Ferrari Mondial 3.2L).

Awesome, awesome find.

"Even the wife of the original collector didn’t know whether he’d sold the California or still owned it, and their children knew nothing about the car until they came across it, a few months ago, hidden under those old newspapers"

WTF?! How on earth could the children of this guy have no idea he owned one of the most desirable cars on the planet?

Edit: here's a pic of Alain Delon and Shirley MacLaine in the car in 1964:

Does anyone know what this one is?

The Classic Driver article has a list of the cars, if that helps anyone work it out … but I know many of them are coach built specials.
