My black box in my car seems to be triggering high speed concerns and I get a 'dangerous score' from not even speeding...

I've heard there are ways to stop the connection but does anyone know anything about this?

If the box is genuinely throwing up false 'speeding' flags, phone your insurance company and surely they'll replace it with a box which isn't faulty?

Is there a reason you haven't considered this?

Oh yeah. Fraud.

The box doesn't know the speed limit. It only knows the G-forces which it's seeing from acceleration, deceleration, cornering.

And, yes, you can disable it - but you'll invalidate your insurance. Unless, of course, your insurance doesn't actually require the black box - in which case, why are you concerned about what it flags up...?
