Simple question I can't seem to find the answer for.

I am SORN'ing one of my cars this evening and I pay the road tax by monthly direct debit. How do I cancel that or is it automatic?

There is probably some obvious headline on the web-site that I cant see for looking.

Any idea peoples?

SORNing cancels tax. Always has, since it was introduced in 1998, always will. So, yep, it'll cancel the DD.

If it doesn't, because of some cock-up (DVLA? Really...?), then the DD guarantee means you only need to lean gently on your bank to get the excess payments back.

Thank you. I shall rest easy in my bed knowing that the family fortune is safe in the hands of the DVLA. smile
