Private plate help.

I currently have a cherished number on my car but have purchased another at the DVLA auctions last week.

My question is can I retain my current number and apply the new one at the same time? Or do I need to retain the current number, go back to the original mark then transfer my new one once I receive the V5. I hope this is not the case as it seems a lot of fuss!!

- you do it all at the same time... old one goes on retention, and new one is added to the car - just get the right forms...then wait 2-4 weeks
