I'm curious! How does the memory module know the exact position of each adjustment / motor? Does anybody know?

I'd guess it's quite simple in that each movement has a motor and the module remembers the position of each of those.

Three ways spring to mind: stepper motor, linear encoder or rotaty encoder.

The only one I've ever looked at a wiring diagram for was stepper motor based.

Magic pixies, that live under the seats wink

Or, stepper motors.

Each motor has a potentiometer.
So for instance, with the seat position fully up the Pot reads zero ohms, fully reclined it's 5000 ohms. Mid way is 2500 ohms.
The seat computer simply remembers the resistance measurement of your chosen seat positions, and powers up the motors until each one spins the Pot to that value.

No seats use stepper motors that I'm aware of? and even if they did - you would still need a Pot to know where the seat position is.
