hi all, oddity spotted in the paperwork of my latest fiat coupe ROB purchase (Rush Of Blood) earlier, wondering if anyone has any ideas or experience.

my car was originally registered early 1999, under an "s" prefix. lets call it "s1".

4 months later under same owner there is then a registration plate change to another "s" prefix, nothing notable, lets call it "s2". maybe initials but why not chosen during initial registration of vehicle - assuming this was offered in '99.

then - another owner added a 1x2 number/letter plate as a cherished transfer.

the car then reverted back to "s2" once they sold up - again, would "s1" not have been the default given "s2" was a private???

found the whole is reg change to s reg - weird???

all the above is shown on HPI reports and the car servicing sheets from the dealers - chassis / engine numbers match but the plates change in late '99.

thanks in advance, really curious, nothing major, 1st world problems etc...

Perhaps it was chosen with S1 being the private plate then four months later the owner realized how unreliable a fiat was and put his plate on another car leaving the coupe in his name for his wife to use. then S2 became the default plate.

Maybe somebody said to the first owner "Oooh, nice plate" (meaning "S1"), so they transferred that onto something else? What does a query on that plate show up?
