I'm in the process of sorting my car after a small engine fire.

My main issue now is the power steering.

The EPS light is on,and the steering makes a rumbling sound when steering left?

I have checked the wiring, cannot see any melted.

The car is a S2000 with fully electric steering.

Does it sound like the motor possibly burnt out from the heat?

The rack did get a bit messy, mainly from oil and extinguisher powder.
But has cleaned up, and no visual damage.

Cheers

Any one any ideas?

I am at bit of a loss now, apart from changing the whole rack frown

I have double checked all the connections. Have checked the fuses in the EPS box.

I'm I'm guessing for the rumbling/vibrating noise/feeling it has to be something mechanical?

If I rock the steering with the electrical connections disconnected so no EPS there is a slight knocking noise.

Cheers

Also, I don't suppose a low battery could cause this?

Ie the electric motor is just struggling due to low power?

The car is starting to struggle to start the car now.
