Letter number letter letter letter

What's the first letter got to be, as I know you can't make a car look younger?

If it is a pre-August 1990 car G is the newest letter you can use.

DVLA did it themselves

In the early days of plate rape plates like "ABC 123" were being transferred off for sale and DVLA were issuing "ABC 123A" style plates as replacements. Problem with this as DVLA were making cars look newer than they were.

I'm pretty sure that as a result DVLA started to issue "XYZ 321" plates back that were "non transferable"

That's a NI plate with dodgy spacing, it's not a 14 plate, there should be three letters not three numbers.
