Coveting my neighbour's car would make sense if he drove a Ferrari. He drives a Volvo C30 R Design so why do I feel a touch of envy? Next door on the other side has a wee grey Audi A1, a 1.2 S Line. I kinda want that too. Strange thing is neither car was on my radar till my neighbours bought them.

I think it's your neighbour's ox you're not allowed to covert. Nothing in the bible about the Volvo C30. Steal it I say.

Look jealousy about his car is one thing. It's another to take a shot at his neighbours wife like that...

One side, knackered old C class. The other side an Alfa Mito that sounds like it's totally fked and struggles to start every day

One side has an Astra, the other has a TT, a Ford Kuga and KIA Cee'd. So, no desire there. The family across the way have a MKV R32 Golf which sounds lovely on start up every morning. But I still don't covet it.

The C30 R Design is a good looking motor and a decent car - I had one and enjoyed owning it, hardly super covetous material though!

My neighbour has a Ferrari 355 in the garage which seldom sees the light of day, I am very, very jealous! It makes our Ford, Renault and Volvo look a bit poor by comparison!

Depends how near they are...

I quite like next door's little old tractors - an early Massey (basically a red Fergie) and a SuperDexta. His Bristol's lovely, too.

I used to be the Seat Leon in an Aston Martin sandwich with my neighbours. On the bright side, they both got their houses broken into several times by thieves looking for the car keys while I was left in complete peace!

Standing in my kitchen making breakfast on Saturday morning, I idly looked out the window to watch an F-Type roadster saunter by. Didn't see where it went, but it isn't a through road and I didn't see it go back the other way.

Need to take a walk to see if it belongs to someone who lives further up the road, and if so, befriend them...

Not really much appealing around my house, I would even choose have my 2003 MG ZS over all the cars except one. They are almost all small hatchbacks, some quite new, clios, a 2005 fiesta ST, old ropey Citroen C3.

The one that appeals is a 2006 black Audi A6 1.9TDI. No idea why it is so alluring, I think it has a certain class that escapes the A4 now that they are the aspirational car of many, often driven in anger and by angry people. I'd never really thought about them before seeing one right outside my house. Looking at the reviews of them, the A6 doesn't handle well, and is expensive at that age, and being a 1.9tdi is noisy and slow. Still want it when I see it though.

My direct next door neighbour is a trader with small forecourt. He generally trades at the bttom end of the market, but every now and again I am tempted.

This year he has had a mint, low mileage mk1 Focus RS, a lovely early 90s Mini Cooper and a mid 60s MG midget and a Fiat Coupe 16v Turbo. It is quite difficult driving past without having a chat.

Grass seed cunningly sprinkled would disguise it as an odd-shaped hill. Replace scabby rust with lush greenery smile
