And are you happy to get one from a scrap yard and fit yourself for £5? or get a new one from a dealer for a £hundred+?

For windscreens, you're best off contacting an indie supplier. Autoglass is massively overpriced. PM Glassman on PH.

Are you sure there is no other damage apart from the bonnet and 'screen?

And also-may be worth tackling why it flew open in the first place...

guessing this hasn't happens to you, as in general that isn't an issue, the bonnet isn't going to close again until it's been replaced

In general the catch mechanism is on the car, not the bonnet, so certainly worth investigating the cause before a new bonnet has been fitted so it doesn't happen again.

If it is a Primera P10, I've got a brand new, unused windscreen looking like it wants to go as a secondhand one...

This, had it happen on my Laguna, was the latch on the car that had a fault. Rather scary when it happens mid corner, was 100 miles into a trip, most of it down motorway then it went on twisty seaside birds.

how much? ive got a quote which seems reasonable.

Managed to get the bonnet back in to reasonable sort of shape and fannied with the latch, cleaned it out and greased it up. tried to force it up a lot and it seems ok. Blasted it down the road at 60 and it didnt fly up again. so tentatively calling it fixed.

There's a reason behind his user name wink

Aren't there two latches? one to let the bonnet open a bit, the second to prevent it flying up if the first one fails
