Buying car tax at the PO - quick question.

On behalf of an elderly friend really but just wanted to be sure. When buying car tax at the PO you show the V5 or reminder but do you still need to produce the insurance and MOT or are they now able to check and confirm these online ?

only need the v5 or new keeper part, except in NI where you need insurance
