BMW 330D Msport v Mercedes C300 Hybrid
Discussion
I am on the horns of a dilemma and wonder what you PH'ers might think.
As a company car driver I've had two consecutive 520D Msports and was after a change. I have rescued a 9 month old F30 330D Msport from the pool and I have two months to decide whether or not to keep it or order a new car. First impressions (one month in) are very positive. It has the 19 inch wheels with VDC suspension and goes and handles far better than either of the 5s. And despite 258 bhp and superb acceleratative abilities it's more economical too! So why dither? Well aside from the wheels/VDC/zenons and heated seats, it lacks some of the toys I'm used to including sat nav!
So I've now borrowed a new Mercedes C300 Hybrid for almost a week and again first impressions are very positive! I LOVE the interior and as it's an AMG Premium Plus model it is stuffed with toys. It's not as quick as the BMW but it's only a second slower 0-60, 30 bhp down and has plenty of torque. I'm still getting used to the electric bit but there's obvious fuel efficiencies there. Handling doesn't seem as sharp but I do spend most of my time on motorways.
I can't decide which looks best - they are both nice looking cars in a 4 door Germanic kind of way. I definitely don't need anything bigger. Decision time looms and the cheap tax bracket for the Hybrid makes financial sense too. But I do love that creamy 6 cylinder!!!
Any thoughts?

Well this is obviously a topic that didn't appeal to many!!
For what it's worth, I've agonised long and hard and decided that I just loved the interior of the C300', the quality of the toys and the hybrid "sailing" driving style. In AMG Premioum Plus mode it's also a very good looking car.
..... And I've decided to go for the 330D M Sport!
From a pure drivers perspective, it handles nicer (esp on the variable damper control suspension) and all that torque is so nice. It's more thirsty but for a 3 litre it's still pretty good and it hasn't dropped below 40 mpg and I've seen North of 50 mpg if I'm careful.
Would still be interested in views of those who have shortlisted the 3 series v the C class!

I have gone for the C250 amg for my next car as I just find the BMW interior so boring. Have they ever changed it? Handling wise I am sure the BMW would be better but as I spend most of my time on motorways that doesn't make a blind bit of difference.
I would have been interested to see how the Hybrid compared though.
